I am a technical writer in Toronto, where I’ve lived for the last 12 years. I’ve dabbled in other types of writing as well, however it’s all been for me. Except for my forays into the blogosphere, which is what I’ve been doing over the last couple of years. Blogging has turned out to be quite a lot of fun for me, as it’s quite different from writing software manuals, plus I get to talk about more exciting things than how to access the configuration page of a software application. 2008 is going to be the year I try and break out into freelance writing, so stay tuned to hear more about that.
My likes:
- television: Battlestar Galactica, 24, Bones, Numb3rs, and a couple of soap operas.
- movies: Dangerous Liaisons is my favourite, but I also like to go see all the Oscar nominees every year as well.
- sports: hockey, hockey, and hockey. Yes, I am an NHL fan, and proud of it. My favourite team is the Montreal Canadiens, which doesn’t make me too popular here in Toronto, but that’s okay. I’m also a big tennis fan, having recently started watching it again.
- music: Sarah McLachlan, the Police, anything retro, a good metal band, good rock, and some prog-rock that my friend the Rock Dude introduced me to.
Dislikes are easy things to talk about, so I won’t mention them here. If you want to drop me a line, feel free to do so at jbonline15 at gmail dot com.
